Chandrababu Invites Prime Minister Modi to Inaugurate Amaravati Reconstruction Works
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi as part of his official visit. The meeting, which lasted for approximately one and a half hours, included a discussion on key developmental issues concerning the state.
During the meeting, Chandrababu Naidu strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed unwavering support for every decision the central government takes in the fight against terrorism, affirming that Andhra Pradesh stands firmly with the Centre.
The Chief Minister extended a formal invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the foundation-laying ceremony for the revival of the Amaravati capital city works, scheduled for May 2. Chandrababu Naidu requested the Prime Minister to be the chief guest at the event, which is intended to mark the beginning of development projects in the state worth over ₹1 lakh crore. The state government has reportedly prepared a detailed roadmap for the implementation of these works and plans to have the foundation stones laid by the Prime Minister himself.
In addition to Amaravati, the two leaders are said to have discussed the progress of the Polavaram project, various other critical infrastructure initiatives, financial support, and promises made at the time of state bifurcation. Chandrababu Naidu conveyed that the state seeks central cooperation for the comprehensive development of Andhra Pradesh. The meeting is reported to have taken place in a positive atmosphere.
Preparations are underway to hold the Amaravati foundation-laying event behind the Secretariat in Velagapudi. Officials estimate that around five lakh people are expected to attend the public gathering. A roadshow involving approximately 30,000 participants is also being considered on the same day, in which both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu are expected to take part. As a symbolic gesture marking the launch of ₹1 lakh crore worth of development works, Prime Minister Modi is also expected to unveil a commemorative pylon.
