"You Killed My Husband, Kill Me Too": Grieving Wife Confronts Kashmir Terrorist

In the tragic attack carried out by terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, 26 tourists lost their lives. Among the victims was Manjunath, who was fatally shot in front of his wife Pallavi during the assault. Overwhelmed by grief, Pallavi confronted one of the terrorists, demanding that he kill her and her son as well. According to Pallavi, the assailant refused and told her to go and inform Prime Minister Narendra Modi about what had happened.

Pallavi, who had travelled from Shivamogga to Kashmir with her husband Manjunath and their 18-year-old son Abhijay, recounted the harrowing events to the media. She said they had arrived in Kashmir for a vacation. On the morning of the incident, Abhijay had not eaten, prompting Manjunath to go out and bring food for him. Soon after, gunfire erupted in the area. Initially assuming it to be army activity, Pallavi was alarmed when she saw people running. She then discovered her husband lying in a pool of blood with a bullet wound to his head.

“They shot my husband dead right before my eyes. I could not understand what was happening. I was in such shock that I couldn’t even cry,” said Pallavi.

After the shooting, Pallavi and her son reportedly came face-to-face with one of the terrorists. Pallavi said she confronted him, saying, “You killed my husband, now kill me too.” Her son also cried out, “You dog, you killed my father, kill us too.” Pallavi said the terrorist replied, “I won’t kill you. Go and tell Modi.” She added that three to four terrorists were involved in the attack and that they were not dressed in army uniforms. According to her, the gunmen specifically targeted Hindus, particularly male individuals.

Pallavi appealed to the government for assistance in repatriating her husband’s body to their hometown of Shivamogga. She said she, her son, and her husband had planned to return together and requested that necessary arrangements be made so that she would not have to travel alone.
