The Government of Andhra Pradesh is preparing for the formal launch of Amaravati's redevelopment works by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to the state ministers’ committee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Amaravati on May 2 and inaugurate development works worth approximately ₹1 lakh crore. The committee has focused on making all necessary arrangements to ensure the success of the Prime Minister’s visit.
A high-level meeting was held at the Water Resources Department camp office in Vijayawada to discuss the arrangements for the Prime Minister’s tour. The meeting was attended by a ministers' committee comprising Narayana, Payyavula Keshav, and Nandendla Manohar, as well as Chief Secretary Vijay Anand, CRDA officials, secretaries of various departments, senior IAS and IPS officers from the coordination committee, and other senior police officials. The meeting involved extensive discussions on the steps needed to make the event successful. The committee directed the officials to complete all preparations on a war footing.
A massive public gathering is planned during the Prime Minister’s visit to Amaravati. The ministers’ committee estimates that nearly five lakh people will attend the event. Accordingly, discussions were held with officials regarding the construction of the event venue, helipads, development of approach roads, parking arrangements, and provision of drinking water and buttermilk facilities in view of the summer heat. The ministers emphasized measures to manage the crowd and avoid any inconvenience to the public.
Ministers Narayana and Nandendla Manohar stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive in Amaravati at 3:00 PM and participate in the scheduled events until 5:20 PM.
Minister Payyavula Keshav confirmed that the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone or inaugurate works worth ₹1 lakh crore from the Amaravati redevelopment site. He added that financial resources have already been secured for all these projects and that contractors have been finalized. “We have made all arrangements to begin work on the ground the very next day after the Prime Minister inaugurates the projects,” said Payyavula Keshav.
Minister Nandendla Manohar expressed hope that the event would also serve as a platform to honor the farmers and women who faced numerous hardships after giving up their lands during the tenure of the previous government.
He called upon alliance party leaders, workers, and the public from all districts to participate in the program in a coordinated manner and make it a grand success. Minister Payyavula Keshav invited everyone who desires the development of the state to take part in this historic moment. The ministers expressed confidence that the Prime Minister’s visit would rejuvenate the development works in Amaravati.
