Fatwa Issued Against Tamil Superstar Vijay by Sunni Muslim Board
A fatwa has been issued against Tamil actor and political leader Vijay by the Sunni Muslim Board in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, National President of the All India Muslim Jamaat and Chief of Chashmi Darul Ifta, declared the fatwa, alleging that Vijay's recent actions portray him as anti-Islamic.

According to the fatwa, inviting individuals who consume alcohol and engage in gambling to an Iftar gathering is not only a sin but also a crime. The Board urged the Muslim community in Tamil Nadu not to trust such individuals or involve them in any religious activities.

Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi further alleged that Vijay is attempting to use Muslim sentiments as a political tool to enter the political arena through cinema. He claimed that Vijay's past actions suggest he is opposed to Muslims. Expressing anguish over Vijay’s film The Beast, Razvi stated that the movie depicted Muslims and the entire Muslim community as terrorists and extremists. He also accused the film of portraying Muslims as demons and evil spirits.

He criticized Vijay for allegedly trying to win Muslim votes while simultaneously offending the faith. Razvi asserted that the sanctity of Ramadan was insulted when Vijay invited alcohol consumers and anti-social elements to an Iftar event. He argued that such individuals do not observe fasting or follow Islamic principles.

Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi advised Sunni Muslims in Tamil Nadu to file police complaints on the matter and urged them to maintain distance from Vijay. He requested the community to refrain from attending Vijay’s events and to avoid inviting him to any religious functions.
