PV memorial to come up in Delhi
New Delhi, April 1, 2015: The NDA Government led by BJP has decided to build suitable memorial for the late prime minister and economic reforms harbinger P.V.Narasimha Rao disowned by the Congress leadership.
Based on a resolution adopted by the AP Government last year, Union Urban Development Ministry has prepared a note on the PV memorial to be built at Ekta Sthal on the banks of river Yamuna in Delhi.
The memorial would be in the form of a Samadhi in marble stone attached to a plaque. It will come up besides the Samadhi of late prime ministers IK Gujral and Chandrasekhar and late presidents Giani Zail Singh, Shankar Dayal Sharma, KR Narayanan and R Venkataraman.
The Union Urban Development Ministry's note will be sent to the Union Cabinet soon which is likely to approve it.
The move of the BJP leadership to build the memorial for PV is bound to embarrass the Congress leadership which disowned him thinking that he has a tacit understanding with the then BJP and RSS leadership in the demolition of Babri Masjid.
