CBI Probe Sought by KA Paul in Pastor Praveen’s Death Case

CBI Probe Sought by KA Paul in Pastor Praveen’s Death Case

The controversy surrounding the death of Pastor Praveen continues to unfold. Despite the police stating—with CCTV footage as evidence—that Praveen died in a road accident, Christian organizations continue to raise allegations regarding the incident. KA Paul, President of the Praja Shanti Party, filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into Praveen’s death. The High Court heard the PIL today.

In the petition, KA Paul alleged that Praveen was murdered and demanded a CBI investigation to bring the facts to light. The government informed the court that Praveen had died in a road accident. Considering this, the High Court issued key directions, instructing the government to file an affidavit in the matter.

KA Paul further argued that Praveen’s murder was premeditated. He claimed the images released by the police were morphed and alleged that the local Superintendent of Police threatened people not to speak about the incident. KA Paul also stated that Praveen did not have the habit of consuming alcohol and noted that the post-mortem report of Praveen has still not been provided. He emphasized that the police declared Praveen’s death as a road accident, following which he approached the High Court seeking a CBI investigation.
