Should One Travel from Visakhapatnam to Amaravati via Hyderabad?: Ganta Srinivasa Rao

Telugu Desam Party Member of Legislative Assembly Ganta Srinivasa Rao expressed strong dissatisfaction over the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of two morning flight services between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. Sharing his experience on social media, Ganta Srinivasa Rao highlighted the difficulties he and other passengers faced due to the lack of direct connectivity within Andhra Pradesh.
“It is deeply unfortunate that to travel from Visakhapatnam, the economic capital of Andhra Pradesh, to Amaravati, the administrative capital of the same state, one has to go via Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana,” said Ganta Srinivasa Rao.
He explained that he arrived at Visakhapatnam Airport at 8 a.m. and boarded a flight to Hyderabad. From there, he took a connecting flight to Vijayawada, eventually reaching Gannavaram Airport by 1 p.m. the same afternoon.
Representatives from industry bodies such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), who were scheduled to meet Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the evening, also had to travel the same route via Hyderabad. According to Ganta Srinivasa Rao, this situation arose because the two morning flights operating between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada had been cancelled.
He further noted that the problem was compounded by the fact that the cancellation occurred on a Tuesday, when the Vande Bharat Express train service was not available, leaving air travel as the only option. This forced passengers to change two flights to reach Vijayawada, which he described as a distressing scenario for air travellers from Visakhapatnam.
Ganta Srinivasa Rao also shared images of his flight tickets as part of his post.
