Sports City and Amaravati Works Progressing, Says Minister Narayana

The Government of Andhra Pradesh is planning to develop a massive sports city along the banks of the Krishna River. In this context, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Administration Narayana conducted an inspection today of the Lanka lands near Ibrahimpatnam. He examined the lands located in Pedalanka and Chinalanka, which fall under the jurisdiction of NTR and Guntur districts. Minister Narayana, along with Members of the Legislative Assembly and the District Collector, walked nearly three kilometers to assess the suitability of the Lanka lands.
Speaking on this occasion, Minister Narayana revealed that the government is exploring the establishment of a sports city in the Mylavaram constituency. He explained that the Chief Minister has directed that the sports city be developed to accommodate international sporting events. Minister Narayana stated that approximately 2,000 acres of land would be required for the construction of the sports city.
He further announced that a committee is being constituted to study the feasibility of constructing the sports city on the Krishna river’s Lanka lands. The committee will include the District Collector, officials from the Water Resources Department, and other relevant authorities. According to Minister Narayana, the committee is expected to submit its report on the sports city within a month. He affirmed that the government will proceed based on the findings and recommendations of this report.
Minister Narayana also addressed the status of the capital city Amaravati. He stated that construction work in Amaravati is gaining momentum. Currently, 3,000 workers and 500 machines are engaged in the development of the capital. He added that by the end of April, 15,000 workers are expected to be participating in the ongoing works. Minister Narayana affirmed that the construction of Amaravati will be completed within three years.
