Centre Clarifies on Reports About Changes in Tatkal Booking Timings
In response to widespread claims circulating on social media that the Indian Railways has revised the Tatkal train ticket booking timings with new rules coming into effect from April 15, the Central Government has clarified that these reports are baseless.
The Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check division issued a statement through social media, urging the public not to believe such misinformation. It confirmed that no changes have been made to the current Tatkal or Premium Tatkal booking schedules for either AC or non-AC classes.
A photo suggesting that new Tatkal booking timings would be implemented from April 15 has gone viral on social media. Addressing this, the government clarified that the image is completely false.
The statement further emphasized that there have been no alterations in the timings allowed for agents to book tickets either. The existing rules remain fully in effect, and the public is advised to rely only on official sources for such information.
