Sharbat Jihad: Ramdev Baba Makes Sensational Allegations

Prominent yoga guru Ramdev Baba has made sensational allegations against soft drink companies, claiming that they are engaging in what he described as “Sharbat Jihad.” In a recent promotional video for a rose sharbat launched by the Patanjali group, Ramdev Baba accused these companies of selling poison under the guise of cool drinks and using the proceeds to construct mosques and madrasas.
“Soft drink companies are selling poison in the market under the label of cool drinks,” Ramdev Baba said. He further alleged, “This is Sharbat Jihad. With every cool drink you consume, poison enters your body, and the money you spend goes towards the construction of mosques and madrasas.”
Urging people to avoid mainstream soft drinks, Ramdev Baba promoted Patanjali’s rose sharbat and other beverages as a safer alternative. “Protect your family from the poisonous substances sold under the name of cool drinks—these are nothing more than toilet cleaners in disguise,” he claimed in the video. He appealed to the public to bring home only Patanjali’s sharbats and juices, stating, “These drinks will protect your health, and the money you spend will support the construction of Gurukuls and the Patanjali University.”
These remarks were made as part of a promotional campaign for Patanjali's rose sharbat, and have sparked considerable attention due to their provocative nature and communal implications.
