Quartz Mining Case: Kakani’s Bail Rejected, Quash Plea Hearing Deferred

In a setback for former minister and YSR Congress Party leader Kakani Govardhan Reddy, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has dismissed his anticipatory bail petition in connection with an illegal quartz mining case. The High Court denied his plea seeking protection from arrest in the case.

Kakani Govardhan Reddy had filed a petition requesting anticipatory bail, aiming to avoid arrest by the police. However, the High Court rejected this request, thereby refusing to grant him legal protection in advance of any potential arrest.

Additionally, Kakani Govardhan Reddy had filed a separate quash petition, seeking the dismissal of the case registered against him. The High Court has postponed the hearing on this petition by two weeks.
