Shuttler Saina is first Indian woman to become World No.1
New Delhi, March 28: India's ace shuttler Saina Nehwal is became the top ranked women's singles player in the world, following Carolina Marin's semi-final loss at the India Open Super Series badminton tournament here on Saturday.
Earlier, Saina had reached her maiden semifinals at the tournament and was a win away from topping the World rankings.
However, with Carolina Marin losing her match, Saina jumped to the top spot.
