Wife Allegedly Demands ₹5,000 Per Day to Stay in Marriage, Claims Bengaluru Techie

A Bengaluru-based software engineer named Srikant has approached the police, alleging harassment by his wife, who he claims is demanding ₹5,000 per day to continue living with him. According to Srikant’s complaint, his wife frequently insults him, demands money, and threatens to commit suicide if her financial demands are not met.

Srikant further stated that his wife disrupts his work-from-home routine by dancing and causing disturbances during Zoom calls. Unable to bear the harassment, he claimed that when he sought a divorce, his wife demanded ₹45 lakh as compensation. The couple reportedly got married in 2022.

However, Srikant’s wife has refuted all allegations, describing them as baseless. She claimed that Srikant is making false accusations to justify his intention of marrying someone else. She further alleged that he had edited audio and video recordings to lodge a misleading complaint with the police.
