Gunmen Open Fire on Former Congress MLA in Himachal Pradesh; Video Goes Viral

A shocking incident occurred on the day of Holi in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, as unidentified assailants opened fire on former Congress MLA Bamber Thakur. According to reports, four armed individuals forcibly entered Thakur’s residence and fired 12 rounds. A video of the attack has gone viral on social media.

Thakur and his security officer sustained injuries in the shooting. It is reported that Thakur suffered a bullet wound in his leg. The identities and motives of the attackers remain unknown. Following the attack, Thakur was moved to a safe location, while his personal security officer (PSO) was immediately taken to a hospital.

Later, Thakur was also admitted to the hospital for treatment. After receiving initial medical attention at the Bilaspur Regional Hospital, both Thakur and his PSO were transferred to AIIMS Bilaspur for further treatment.

The police arrived at the crime scene and launched an investigation. CCTV footage showed four armed men storming into the house and opening fire before fleeing the scene. Authorities are analyzing the footage to track down the suspects. The attack has triggered a major outcry in the state.
