Body blow to Babu as HC orders removal of unwilling farmers' names from list

Hyderabad, March 26, 2015: In a body blow to AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's efforts to go ahead with the construction of the first phase of the capital city at Tullur in Guntur district, the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad on Thursday directed the Capital Region Development Authority ( CRDA ) to remove from the list the names of farmers who are unwilling to give their lands. The HC direction came as a big relief to farmers who are not willing to lose their lands for the sake of the capital city. The directive however came as a major disappointment to the Government which is fast making plans for the construction of the first phase of the city. The apex court of the state, disposing off a batch of petitions filed by 35 farmers, has directed the CRDA commissioner Srikanth to take action on its directive and submit a compliance report in the next fifteen days.
