Babu feeling insulted over party candidate's defeat in MLC polls

Hyderabad, March 26, 2015: With TDP losing one of the two MLC seats for which polls were held from the Teachers' constituency in AP , Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is now feeling insulted. Naidu reportedly told some of his ministers and close confidants that losing one of the two seats came as a humiliation to him. He felt that the defeat of the party candidate KVV Satyanarayana Raju alias Chaitanya Raju in the East and West Godavari constituency was the result of lack of coordination between the in-charge ministers and MLAs. The defeat of Chaitanya Raju came as a rude shock to TDP leadership which was confident of winning the two MLC seats. TDP however won the other seat from the Guntur-Krishna constituency.

TS employees' union leader Devi Prasad defeated
In Telangana too, elections were held for two Council seats from the Graduates' constituency. While TRS candidate Palla Rajeshwar Reddy established a lead of 11,323 votes in the first round of counting in Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam constituency, its second candidate and Telangana employees' union leader Devi Prasad lost to BJP candidate N.Ramachandra Rao in Hyderabad-RR-Mahabubnagar constituency. Reports said TRS leadership did not take serious interest for the victory of Deviprasad and internal sabotage also played a part in his defeat. Partly, the constituency where Devi Prasad contested was dominated by Seemandhra people. The defeat of Devi Prasad shows that TRS was not as powerful in Hyderabad belt as it was in other districts.
