No one is a competitor for me: Rajendra Prasad
Hyderabad , March 25, 2015: Undeterred by reports that he has become a loner in the contest for MAA ( Movie Artistes Association) president post, actor Rajendra Prasad said that he and his panel members are very much in the fray for the president post.
"No one is a competitor for me, " he declared at a press meet which was also attended by actor-producer Naga babu, actor Sivaji Raja and other panel members. Actor Uttej was not seen at the press meet.
The contest has been politicised by the other group, Rajendra Prasad charged.
Rajendra Prasad said he has become a contestant for the president post with a genuine interest to serve the common artistes. He also accused his rival contestant Jayasudha of being instigated by an MP.
Nagababu, addressing the press meet, has disclosed that Muralimohan called him and asked him not to support the candidature of Rajendra Prasad. "I bluntly refused," Nagababu said ,adding that the MAA has a fund of more than Rs. 3.Cr.
"They have made the membership fee Rs.1 lakh for new admissions in MAA. What is the necessity for this? They don't want new comers to become members and with that intention only, such a huge fee was prescribed for membership. How can small artistes become members?" Naga babu asked.
Actor Sivaji Raja said he would never succumb to threats from anybody. "My vote is for Rajendra Prasad only," he declared.
