Amaravati to be Completed by 2028: Minister Narayana's Statement in Assembly
Andhra Pradesh Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Narayana, announced in the state assembly today that the construction of the state capital, Amaravati, will be completed by 2028. He made this statement while responding to a question raised by BJP MLA Sujana Chowdary.

Minister Narayana stated that the total estimated cost for Amaravati's development stands at ₹64,721 crore. He highlighted that farmers had voluntarily given their lands for the capital project, placing their trust in N. Chandrababu Naidu. According to him, within just 58 days, farmers contributed 34,000 acres of land for the project.

The minister assured that developed plots in the capital region would be handed over to farmers within three years. He also mentioned that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu envisions Amaravati as one of India's top five capitals in terms of infrastructure and development.

Providing a timeline for key infrastructure projects, Narayana stated that major roads in Amaravati would be completed within two years, while link roads would be finished in three years. Additionally, the construction of the state assembly, secretariat, and high court is expected to be completed in three years. Official buildings for government employees are planned to be finished within a year and a half.

Addressing past land allocations, the minister revealed that 131 companies were allocated 1,277 acres in Amaravati. However, due to developments in the last five years, some of these companies have withdrawn from their commitments.
