IPL 2024 Kicks Off with New Advertising Restrictions
The Indian Premier League (IPL), known for its high-energy cricket entertainment, is set to commence soon. The 18th edition of the tournament will take place from March 22 to May 25. Ahead of the event, the central government has issued crucial guidelines to the IPL organizers.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has explicitly directed that advertisements for tobacco and alcohol products should not be permitted during the tournament. The directive emphasizes a complete ban on such promotions within the IPL.
As for the competition, the upcoming IPL season will feature 10 teams. The opening match on March 22 will see the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, face off against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
