Justin Trudeau Becomes Emotional in Final Address as Canadian Prime Minister – Watch Video
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to step down from his position in two days, following a decline in public support for his government. Trudeau is also expected to resign as the leader of the Liberal Party later this week. On Thursday, he addressed the nation for the final time as Prime Minister, expressing his commitment to serving Canadian citizens throughout his tenure.

"I have always prioritized Canada's interests and worked tirelessly for the welfare of its people. Never have I acted in a way that would bring hardship to citizens," Trudeau stated. He became emotional as he reflected on his time in office, saying, "From my first day to my last, my focus has been on serving the people of Canada. It has been an honor to hold this position."

Addressing trade tensions with the United States, Trudeau referenced U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff policies against Canada. He emphasized that prosperity for Canada and Mexico was essential for the success of Trump's "America First" policy. "None of us truly win if some lose; we all need to succeed together," Trudeau remarked. He also stated that his administration responded firmly to the U.S. tariffs by implementing countermeasures.

Recently, Trump announced a one-month exemption for Canada and Mexico from additional tariffs. Trudeau expressed disappointment over this decision, highlighting the challenges posed by the ongoing trade dispute.
