Sourav Ganguly's Possible Web Series Debut Sparks Speculation
Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly is reportedly making a guest appearance in a web series. The upcoming series Khakee: The Bengal Chapter has sparked speculation after a photo of Ganguly in a police uniform went viral on social media. However, the series' producer, Neeraj Pandey, has not given a direct confirmation regarding Ganguly's role.

Speaking at the trailer launch event on Wednesday, Neeraj Pandey stated that Khakee: The Bengal Chapter is a sequel to Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, featuring actors Jeet, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, and Parambrata Chatterjee in key roles. Pandey explained that the first installment was based on IPS officer Amit Lodha’s book Bihar Diaries, which detailed real-life incidents from his career. Khakee: The Bihar Chapter premiered on Netflix in 2022 and received a positive response, prompting the creation of the sequel.

Meanwhile, some social media users believe that Ganguly may have donned the police uniform as part of the series' promotional campaign rather than playing an actual role. The truth will be revealed when Khakee: The Bengal Chapter begins streaming on March 20.

Additionally, reports indicate that a biopic on Sourav Ganguly has been in development for several years, with actor Rajkummar Rao reportedly cast in the lead role.
