Preity Zinta Clarifies Stance on Politics and Rahul Gandhi Amid Controversy
Former actress and businesswoman Preity Zinta recently engaged with her fans on social media, answering various questions, including one about her potential entry into politics. Responding to a fan’s query, Preity revealed that several political parties had offered her a party ticket, including a seat in the Rajya Sabha, but she declined. She explained that politics did not suit her and that she lacked interest in the field.
Preity also commented on the toxic nature of social media today, stating, “No matter what someone says, it is given a political spin. Every comment is linked to politics. I am just an ordinary woman with sensitive emotions. I have no connection with politics and no interest in it.”
She further addressed the controversy surrounding a loan she had taken from the New India Cooperative Bank in Mumbai. Reports claimed that Preity had borrowed ₹18 crore from the bank, and Kerala Congress alleged that the loan was later waived after she handed over control of her social media accounts to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Preity strongly refuted these allegations, asserting that she had repaid the loan long ago and that she personally manages her social media accounts.
In response to a fan’s suggestion that she should file a defamation case against Rahul Gandhi over these allegations, Preity dismissed the idea. She stated that she did not hold Rahul Gandhi responsible for the claims made by Kerala Congress members. “I have no issues with Rahul Gandhi, and I have no plans to file any case against him,” she clarified.
