Senior Telangana Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada. During the meeting, V. Hanumantha Rao requested that a district in Andhra Pradesh be named after former united Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and late leader Damodaram Sanjivayya. He also urged the construction of a memorial park in his honor.
According to V. Hanumantha Rao, Chandrababu Naidu responded positively to the proposal. He praised Damodaram Sanjivayya, stating that as a Dalit Chief Minister, he was a leader of great integrity.
