SLBC Rescue Efforts Underway: Komatireddy Defends Revanth Reddy’s Absence
Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that the government is making every effort to safely rescue the eight workers trapped in the SLBC tunnel. He clarified that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy did not visit the accident site to ensure that the ongoing rescue operations are not disrupted.

The incident at the SLBC (Srisailam Left Bank Canal) tunnel left eight individuals trapped, and rescue operations are actively underway. Minister Komatireddy, along with senior party leader Jana Reddy, visited the site to oversee the rescue efforts.

Speaking to the media, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy criticized opposition leader K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and other BRS leaders for their remarks during such a critical situation. He condemned KTR’s question on social media platform ‘X’ regarding why the Chief Minister had not visited the site, calling it inappropriate given the gravity of the situation.

Venkat Reddy described the SLBC tunnel accident as a tragic incident that has shocked the nation. He mentioned that workers from different states, including Sikkim and Jharkhand, were engaged in the project and expressed hope that they would be safely rescued. He further stated that the Army, NDRF, and Singareni rescue teams have been deployed to assist in the operation.

Addressing political criticism over the incident, he remarked that such comments reflect the wisdom of those making them. He emphasized that ministers are present at the site, actively supervising the rescue efforts.

The minister also pointed out the alleged double standards in the opposition's remarks, questioning whether KTR had personally visited the accident sites during past incidents, such as those in Sircilla and the Kaleshwaram project. He maintained that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's decision not to visit the site was solely to prevent any disruption in rescue operations.
