YSRCP Leader Arrested in Kidnapping and Attempted Murder Case
Tenali police have arrested a YSRCP corporator and his associate in connection with a kidnapping and attempted murder case. According to Three Town Circle Inspector Ramesh Babu, YSRCP councilor Ahmad Baig forcibly abducted carpenter Sheikh Mastan Vali in broad daylight on February 5, taking him in a car from Tenali to Vijayawada.

During the journey, Baig allegedly attacked the victim and demanded money. The victim was reportedly coerced into agreeing to pay ₹10 lakh before being released in Tenali. After seeking treatment at a government hospital, Sheikh Mastan Vali informed the police, leading to the registration of a case.

Authorities revealed that Ahmad Baig had previously been accused in two other kidnapping cases. Due to his alleged involvement in multiple violent incidents during the YSRCP government’s tenure, a rowdy sheet was opened against him.

Following the incident, Baig had been on the run. However, police arrested him and his associate, Rahman, after receiving information about their presence in Tenali. Two more accused in the case, Sheikh Irfan and Sheikh Humayun Christy, are still absconding, and efforts are underway to apprehend them, the CI stated.
