Pawan Kalyan Condemns Mamata Banerjee’s ‘Mahakumbh of Death’ Remark
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, while attending the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, spoke to the national media about West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s recent remarks. Banerjee had described the Maha Kumbh as a "Mahakumbh of Death," a statement that Pawan Kalyan strongly condemned, calling it highly inappropriate.
"People find it very easy to make comments on Sanatana Dharma and Hinduism. This is the problem with our political leaders. They do not criticize other religions as easily as they do Hinduism. With such leaders, it becomes difficult. They do not realize that their words hurt the sentiments of crores of people," he said.
Addressing concerns over incidents at the Kumbh Mela, Pawan Kalyan stated, "If certain incidents occur during the Kumbh Mela, it cannot be considered a failure of management. Organizing an event attended by millions of devotees is an immense challenge for any government. No one wishes for unfortunate incidents to happen. As far as I know, the Yogi Adityanath-led government is managing the Kumbh Mela excellently. Some incidents are unfortunate, but that does not justify making such remarks."
The Deputy Chief Minister advised experienced politicians to refrain from making such comments. "I am telling senior political leaders not to make such statements. In my opinion, such remarks are inappropriate," he added, criticizing Mamata Banerjee’s comments.
