KTR: Met Union Minister on KCR’s Instructions
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) stated that he met Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in Delhi following instructions from party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). During his visit to the national capital, KTR held discussions with several leaders. Speaking to the media in Delhi, he said that he had submitted a petition to the Union Minister, expressing objections to the amendments in University Grants Commission (UGC) regulations.

KTR alleged that certain regulations were infringing on the rights of state governments. He criticized attempts to grant additional powers to Governors, arguing that such measures would undermine the role of state governments in university appointments, which traditionally fall under their jurisdiction. He further mentioned that the BRS had also conveyed its concerns to the UGC.

Regarding political developments in Telangana, KTR said that people in the state were in favor of by-elections. He pointed out that Supreme Court orders had led to notices being issued to defected legislators and insisted that they should face disqualification.

KTR concluded by stating that he would return to Hyderabad later in the evening, wrapping up his Delhi visit.
