Rachakonda Police Nab Accused Doctor in Kidney Transplant Case

A key suspect in the illegal kidney transplant racket has been taken into custody by the police. Earlier, nine individuals had been arrested in connection with unauthorized kidney transplants conducted at Alakananda Hospital in Saroornagar. In a recent development, Dr. Rajashekhar, a doctor accused of playing a pivotal role in the surgeries, was apprehended in Chennai. The Rachakonda police, after identifying Dr. Rajashekhar’s location, traveled to Chennai and took him into custody. Reports indicate he is being brought to Hyderabad for further investigation.

Meanwhile, two kidney donors and two recipients involved in the case are currently undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. According to medical professionals, they remain in a weak condition. Police are expected to collect detailed statements from them once they recover fully. A comprehensive inquiry will follow after the victims are discharged from the hospital.

This kidney transplant racket has gained significance due to its links to multiple states, including Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, highlighting the extensive network involved in the case.
