Hyderabad, March 17, 2015: Thousands of Anganwadi workers stormed Hyderabad in their bid to lay siege to the AP assembly seeking immediate solution to their problems.
Police have stopped the women activists at several places in the city preventing them from reaching AP assembly.
The Anganwadi activists held a demonstration at Sundaraiah Vignan Bhavan in the city raising slogans against the AP Government. Police have arrested several activists.
Assembly rocked by Anganwadi issue
Asking the Government to solve the Anganwadis' problems, YSRCP issued notice of adjournment motion in the assembly today. The Speaker has rejected the notice.
Following this, YSRCP members stormed into the well and raised slogans demanding pay hike to the Anganwadis.
Minister Achchan Naidu replied that Government was committed to solve Anganwadi problems. "Government is in financial crisis.Still, we are implementing our problems one by one," he told YSRCP members.
However, Speaker Kodela adjourned the house for ten minutes as the opposition members did not relent.
