TG Venkatesh on Chiranjeevi’s Growing Bond with BJP Leaders
TG Venkatesh also praised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, crediting his experience for the coalition government’s excellent performance over the past seven months. He remarked on industrialists paying taxes in Andhra Pradesh and lamented the lack of the state's rightful share in some of these revenues. He urged Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan to address this issue proactively.
Reflecting on his political journey, Venkatesh emphasized his pivotal role in initiating the movement for a united Andhra Pradesh. He claimed that the then-Chief Minister K. Rosaiah did not support the Telangana bifurcation. Recalling a specific incident, he recounted that when protestors planned to destroy the statues on Tank Bund during the agitation, he intervened and requested them to respect the Krishna Devaraya statue. His appeal, he stated, led the protestors to honor his request and retreat.
Venkatesh also called for action on bifurcation promises, urging Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to take the initiative in ensuring the fulfillment of these assurances. He stressed that political parties in Telangana must also cooperate to achieve this goal.
