CBI arrests 2 more in corporate espionage case
New Delhi, March 14: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) late on Friday evening arrested an Assistant in the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) and a partner in a Mumbai-based legal firm for their suspected involvement in corporate espionage. So far, the CBI had arrested five persons in the case. Ram Niwas is the accused Assistant with the DEA. The CBI arrested him for selling classified documents from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) section, reports said. A CBI official said, “Paresh Chimanlal Buddhadev, partner in Chitale & Associates, has been arrested for obtaining classified documents and destroying evidence. He was trying to destroy two sacks stuffed with papers, some of which have been seized.”
