Facing Life Alone: Vijayashanti Shares Personal Hardships

Veteran actress Vijayashanti, who once made a sensational mark in the film industry, recently opened up about her personal hardships in an interview. Known not only for her performances alongside major stars but also for carving a unique identity through action films, Vijayashanti reached a point where her films were earning as much as those of the top heroes of her time. During the interview, she reflected on some of the most challenging periods of her life.

Recounting an incident during the filming of the movie Devalayam in Amaravati, Vijayashanti said, “We were filming a scene where I had to perform a ritual for my father’s funeral in the film. At that very moment, my real father passed away in Chennai. I was only informed that he was seriously ill, and the director allowed me to go. My father was someone I cherished deeply, and seeing him in that state was incredibly painful. I can never forget that moment.”

She went on to reveal another tragedy that struck her: “A year after my father’s death, my mother passed away. It was another deep blow, and from then on, I felt utterly alone. For a girl, the protection and guidance of parents are invaluable, but I suddenly lost both. At that time, I had no one to help me find a life partner or guide me through marriage decisions.”

However, Vijayashanti shared how her life changed when her husband came into her life, saying, “During that difficult phase, he entered my life, encouraged me, and supported my growth. His presence uplifted me, helping me reach new heights.”
