Actor Balakrishna warns Centre on special status to AP

Anantapuram, March 2, 2015: Actor and Hindupuram TDP MLA Balakrishna has said that Centre has done injustice to the state in both general and railway budgets. Speaking to reporters after inspecting the Handri-Niva canal works in the district, Balakrishna said sufficient allotments were not made to AP in the Central budget. "The Centre is also dragging its feet on awarding special state status to AP," Balakrishna remarked. "People will not keep quiet," he warned, adding that if Centre continues to neglect AP, people will rebel and not allow BJP leaders to move on roads. Allotment of Rs.100 Cr is peanuts for completing the Polavaram project, he said and added: "We expected at least Rs.1000 Cr for the project but only Rs.100 Cr has been allotted. This is just peanuts," Balakrishna observed in frustration.
