Media not to be allowed into TS Secretariat
Hyderabad, Feb 20 ,2015: Taking a cue from the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Telangana Government has reportedly decided to ban the entry of media personnel into the Secretariat. Reports said the decision will be implemented from next week or so.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao is said to have taken the decision to ban the entry of media personnel into secretariat after receiving complaints from several ministers and IAS officers that the presence of large number of media personnel is troubling them.
"We are unable to identify the genuine journalists and others as they roam freely every where and barge into our chambers without any prior appointment disturbing our work," the ministers and IAS officers complained to KCR.
Sometimes, media personnel jostle to enter the lifts along with ministers and IAS officers causing irritation to them.
Initially, CM reportedly thought of restricting entry to some journalists of popular news papers and channels but fearing protests by others, he has changed his mind and decided not to allow any media person into the Secretariat.
KCR is said to have directed the ministers and bureaucrats to pass on information to news papers whenever important decisions are taken through Email and also through scheduled press meets.
It has also been decided that the ministers and top officials can give appointments if any journalist wants to meet them on important issues.
