Election Commission Issues Notices to Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan

The Election Commission has issued notices to Janasena Party chief Pawan Kalyan for making inappropriate remarks aimed at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during the election campaign. Pawan Kalyan recently accused CM Jagan Mohan Reddy of being a "scam star," a person who seizes lands, and the leader of the sand and liquor empire. Malladi Vishnu, the Central MLA of Vijayawada, expressed objection to these comments and filed a complaint with the Election Commission on April 8. The complaint alleges that Pawan Kalyan's speech violated the electoral code of conduct, requesting an investigation and appropriate action. Supporting evidence was presented with the complaint.

After reviewing Malladi Vishnu's complaint, the Election Commission has requested Pawan Kalyan to provide an explanation within 48 hours. These remarks were made by Pawan Kalyan at a recent meeting in Anakapalli as part of the campaign for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
