Telangana Minister's Son Summoned by Chennai Customs!

Hyderabad: The son of Telangana Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Harsha Reddy, has been issued summons by the Chennai Customs officials. The summons relate to allegations of Harsha Reddy's involvement in the smuggling of luxury watches worth crores of rupees.

Officials had requested Harsha Reddy to appear for an inquiry on April 4, but he informed them that he could not attend due to suffering from dengue fever. He stated, based on doctors' advice, he is taking rest and will be able to attend the inquiry after April 27.

Speaking with the national media about this case, Harsha Reddy clarified that he has no connection to the case, expressing surprise at receiving the summons and stating that the matter is completely baseless. He also revealed that he is currently suffering from illness.

On February 5, Chennai Customs officials registered a smuggling case after confiscating luxury watches from Mohamed Faheem Mubeen, who arrived from Singapore. The seized watches, a Patek Philippe 5740 and a Breguet 2759, were estimated to have a market value of around 1.73 crores INR. It is believed that Harsha Reddy had these watches brought from abroad, which led to the customs' allegations. Based on the information provided by an intermediary, Alokam Naveen Kumar, who was found to be involved in the transaction between Mubeen and Harsha Reddy, the customs issued the summons to Harsha Reddy.

Naveen Kumar was interrogated by the customs officials on March 12, where he disclosed his role as an intermediary between Harsha Reddy and Mubeen. This information led to the issuance of summons to Harsha Reddy by the Chennai Customs officials based on Naveen Kumar's statement.
