TS to approach HC against AP, Andhra Bank
Hyderabad, Feb 7: The Government of Telangana is getting ready to move the High Court against the Government of Andhra Pradesh and its lead banker, Andhra Bank, for functioning against its interests, according to sources.
Earlier, the AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) is said to have moved the High Court in a bid to challenge the decision of State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) for freezing its assets.
SBH is the lead bank for Telangana.
The row over APSCHE funds started when the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) is said to have asked banks holding assets of APSCHE to freeze the accounts until the issue of APSCHE bifurcation is solved.
It is bbelieved that Andhra Bank is said to have refused to oblige the TS government's request on the grounds that APSCHE is a legal entity as per the AP Reorganisation Act.
