Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham joins YSRCP

Amaravati: Kapu movement leader Mudragada Padmanabham has ended the suspense by joining the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) a short while ago. This morning, in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Tadepalli camp office, he formally became a part of YSRCP. Along with Mudragada, his son Giri also donned the YSRCP's scarf.

Recent speculations about Mudragada joining a political party led to widespread conjecture about his next move. Jana Sena leaders' discussions at his residence led many to believe his joining Jana Sena was a certainty. However, in a surprising turn of events, Mudragada recently announced his decision to join YSRCP. Although expected to join the party earlier, unforeseen delays occurred, culminating in his official induction into YSRCP today.

Mudragada began his political journey in 1978 with the Janata Party, later joining NTR's TDP upon its establishment. He has served as an MLA four times and as an MP once from the united Andhra Pradesh, winning the Kakinada Lok Sabha seat in the 1999 elections. He has also been a minister in both Congress and TDP governments.
