Fire breaks out in Simhachalam forests

Visakha, Feb 6, 2015: A fire broke out in the forests of Simhachalam this morning and the fire brigades are trying to bring the fire under control. Senior officials have rushed to the spot and are supervising the fire-fighting operations. Forest fires have become a regular phenomenon in the surrounding forests of Simhachalam temple. Careless throwing of lit cigarette butts has been the reason for most of the fires that ravaged the forests. The forest witnessed a huge fire in December last and officials struggled for days to bring it under control.
