Telangana Set for Registration Code Change from 'TS' to 'TG' for New Vehicles

The Central Government is set to issue a notification within the next one or two days to change the registration code for new vehicles in Telangana to "TG" from the existing "TS". This decision by the government has already been made public. In this context, the State Government wrote to the Centre on the 5th of this month. 

The Joint Commissioner of Transport, Panduranga Nayak, also visited Delhi to meet with senior officials regarding this matter. It is understood that the Central Government has decided to issue the notification in the next one or two days.


Immediately following the issuance of the central orders, the State Transport Department will also issue orders related to this change. Subsequently, registrations with the new code will commence across the state. However, the government has decided to limit this change to new vehicles only, allowing the registration code for existing vehicles to remain unchanged.
