Now you can book train tickets online: IRCTC
New Delhi, Feb 3: IRCTC initiated a pilot project where a person can book his train ticket online and also get it delivered at home, where he can pay 'cash on delivery' (CoD). Introducing the CoD system for rail ticketing, IRCTC wants to target passengers who hesitate to use their debt or credit cards and those who may not have Internet-banking facility, according to sources. A senior IRCTC official said, "One has to just book the ticket online and payments will be made at the time of delivery of tickets." He said the service will be available in over 200 cities and added that passengers can book a ticket five days prior to their journey. A service charge of Rs. 40 will have to be paid for the delivery of each Sleeper Class ticket and Rs.60 for an AC class ticket, the official said. IRCTC authorised Anduril Technologies to provide CoD services through their website and their App 'BookMyTrain.com'.
