Farmers express ire at Chandrababu over cultivation ban
Hyderabad, Jan 31: In a significant development, farmers in the new Andhra Pradesh capital region have expressed their anger at the state government's decision to ban cultivation of crops in the area.
Angry farmers living in villages that are close to Krishna river are upset with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for taking a decision to ban farming in the area without consulting them.
Congress and other political parties like YSRCP and CPM are extending their support to the farmers' protest.
It may be recalled that Capital Region Development Authority Commissioner N Srikanth had announced that farmers will not be allowed to grow crops in the capital region during the coming agricultural season.
