Angry cotton farmers protest at Enumamula market
Warangal, Jan 31: With Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders joining hundreds of cotton farmers in their protests, tension prevailed at the Enumamula agriculture market near here. The cotton farmers had been staging protests demanding the start of the procurement, which got stalled on Friday, according to sources. Meanwhile, police arrested BJP leader A. Ashok Reddy when he tried to express solidarity to the protesting cotton farmers. Later, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar and ex-minister Baswaraju Saraiah and several other party workers staged protests at the market. Except for the police, no other official was present at the market.
