Gangaraju: Don't raise fingers at my palace alone

Vijayawada, Jan 30, 2015: Narsapuram MP Gokaraju Gangaraju has once again defended the construction of his guest house on the Krishna flood banks near Vijayawada saying that he built his palace some 15 years ago when there were no restrictions. "Even if some rules were there restraining construction of such buildings on the Krishna banks, we were not aware of them," he told reporters , adding that he would abide by the decision of the Government, whatever it is. It is Government's prerogative to take an appropriate decision on such constructions, he said. He however hastened to add that any decision the Government takes should be applied to all other buildings including the Government constructions. "If I am wrong, the state government also must have been at fault at it has built several buildings. Several buildings were also constructed on Bhavani Island apart from hotels at Sitanagaram. How were they allowed?" he asked. The most interesting part of the story is that foundation stone was laid out recently for the construction of the state BJP office on the banks of the Krishna River. We have to wait and see the steps Government will take with regard to these illegal constructions.
