References to AP dropped in Telangana's new school textbooks

Hyderabad, Jan 27: The revised curriculum for the new school textbooks in Telangana are ready and the Education Minister Kadiam Srihari is expected to show the new texts to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao anytime before January 31. Giving this information, Telangana State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) director S. Jagannath Reddy said once the chief minister approves the revised texts, the textbooks will be sent for printing during mid-February. According to sources, all references to the state of Andhra Pradesh have been deleted from the texts of social sciences and literature subjects. The draft texts have been prepared by the curriculum revision committee. The committee, however, may not have changed textbooks of Class IX and X due to continuity issues. The chief minister is expected to take a decision on this soon.
