e-Voting possibility in 2019 general election: Bhanwar Lal

Hyderabad: Telangana's chief electoral officer Bhanwar Lal here on Sunday hinted that E-voting facility can be introduced in the 2019 or 2024 general elections. He made this comments on the sidelines of the National Voters Day celebrations being organised at Paryatak Bhavan by the United Federation of Resident Welfare Associations. He the went on to say that the Election Commission was getting ready with its pilot project that would link voters’ ID with their Aadhar cards in order to eliminate bogus voters. He clarified that the project was successfully implemented in Nizamabad. He the indicated that a similar exercise will be taken up in all the 24 constituencies within Greater Hyderabad limits.
