Surging sea submerges dais at Vizag Utsav Venue

Visakhapatnam: Surging tides on Sunday morning rose high and fell on the venue of the Vizag Utsav at RK beach in Visakhapatnam and submerged the dais, according to early reports, sources said. Consequently sea waters flooded the venue of the Utsav. Meanwhile, the organisers of the Utsav and Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) authorities, who were already facing allegations of inadequate preparations and low turnout at the three-day festivities, were desperately trying to pump out the sea water from the venue. Officials were also trying to estimate the loss incurred due to the surging sea.
