PSU bank strike deferred

New Delhi, Jan 20: Employee unions of all the public sector banks are reported to have deferred their decision to go on a four-day strike from Wednesday. Union leaders said the strike has been put on hold for now following the assurance given by the Indian Banks' Association that issues related to pay revision will be resolved early February. The union leaders said there are 27 PSU banks in India employing at least eight lakhs staff. The unions had earlier announced that they would go on a four-day strike starting January 21 in protest against long-pending issue of pay revision.
