Hyderabad Metro: KCR-Suresh Prabhu discuss SCR's 'traffic block charges'
Hyderabad, Jan 19: When Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu called on Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao here on Monday the latter told him of South Central Railway's demand for payment of ‘traffic block charges’ during the implementation of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project. Chandrasekhar Rao told Suresh Prabhu that the SCR was demanding Rs. 10 crore for each railway crossing where ever metro lines cross the tracks of SCR. The Metro crosses SCR tracks at eight locations in Hyderabad. KCR is said to have reminded the railway minister that SCR's demand was against railway board's policy and said that his government already paid Rs. 25 crore towards these charges to SCR.
