45 passengers escape by a whisker as Volvo bus catches fire

Hyderabad, Jan 19, 2015: 45 people have escaped death by a whisker early this morning when a private Volvo bus caught fire on national highway 65 at Chiragpally in Zaheerabad Mandal of Medak district. The driver of the Mumbai-Hyderabad tourist bus was alerted by L & T workmen who were involved in road widening activity when they saw fire emanating from the engine. The driver, who did not observe the fire, had immediately stopped the bus and asked the passengers to get down. Within minutes after that, the entire bus caught fire and was reduced to ashes. The passengers were then taken to Hyderabad in a specially arranged bus.
